generating plant,
The State Governor, Senator
Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, who
presided over the signing of
the MOU in Asaba, said the
partnership was necessary
because of the importance of

of micro, small, medium scale
enterprises which would not
only give a boost to
employment but, to the socio-
economic development of the
state.
The MoU was signed by the
Secretary to the State
Government, Hon. Ovie Agas

government and the Managing
Director of Yutai Li Nigeria
Limited, Mr Liping Ding.
According to him, his
administration would always
be proactive in partnering with
reputable investors on how to
fast-track the development of
the state.
He said, “The MoU we are
signing today is for the
construction of a 100
megawatts of solar power
plant; we have had some
reasonable agreement with the
company, the land they need
for the power plant has been
sourced for”.
“The company is ready to be
involved in the use of solar
energy to generate power
which will help to improve the
power supply in the state and
the country”, the Governor
stated, emphasising, “it is
heart-warming to know that
solar energy is an efficient and
effective way of preserving our
environment and I call on host
communities to cooperate with
the company as it has the
capacity of creating
employment opportunities for

helping to increase electricity
supplied to the national grid.”
