President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday night met with the leadership of the National Assembly led by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Speaking with State House at the end of the meeting, Saraki said that the executive and legislature have agreed on the way forward to tackle the 2016 Budget crisis. According to him, the grey areas will be ironed out in a matter of days and the budget will be ready for President’s assent next week. “So it is good to Nigerians and all of us, we have found a way forward and in a matter of days the budget will be ready for president’s assent. Asked to throw light on the way forward, he said: “We have committees that have been set up on our side and also on the executive side. Cape Town - Pick n Pay is investigating a claim that a Mitchells Plain granny and her grandson were reduced to tears over a demand that the elderly woman pay for a slab of chocolate the boy broke. A picture of the woman on the floor, cradling the boy, was being shared on Facebook on Sunday by people demanding that action be taken against the store's security and manager for the way the situation was handled. Another picture shows a slab of Dairy Milk broken in half with the wrapper still intact and Facebook users expressing their outrage over the way the two were treated at the store on Saturday. Michelle Davids wrote on the Mitchells Plain Gangwatch Facebook page, "The child didn't even open and eat from the chocolate" while Shantelle Engelbrecht wrote on the retailer's Facebook page, "I was planning on doing the walk in Kimberley till I saw the story of pick n pay Mitchell's plain traumatising a granny and grandchild...

A court in Nigeria has sentenced a former local MP to 154 years in jail for corruption and money laundering. Gabriel Daudu, from central Kogi State, was found guilty of 77 charges, Nigeria's anti- corruption body says. But the judge ruled that the sentences would run concurrently, meaning Dauda will only spend two years in jail. The EFCC says Mr Daudu, who was put on trial in 2010, was involved in laundering about $7m (£5m). Delivering the judgement in Kogi state capital, Lokoja, Justice Inyang Ekwo said the persecution had "proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt", the EFCC said in a statement. It is not immediately clear whether Dauda will appeal against the ruling and whether any of the stolen money was recovered.

Pro-Saraki group clashed with members of the Occupy National Assembly Protesters who are calling for the resignation of the Senate president. Both groups met at the entrance of the National Assembly and they began arguing over who should stay at the entrance and who should leave.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ruled on an application of stay of proceedings filed by the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. In his ruling, the judge over the matter, John Tsoho refused an application made by Kanu’s counsel, Chuks Muoma. He said application is not based on facts and findings. In a 5-paragraph counter affidavit, the DSS had asked the court to discontence Kanu’s application. The DSS said the application filed by Kanu lacked merit and cannot stand. Kanu in his application asked the court to stay proceedings on his trial pending an Appeal Court hearing on an appeal made over the court’s ruling to allow protection of defense witness. The judge said the granting of stay of discretion of the court. He also said the discretion must follow a process guided by principles of the appeal. He said: “Stay of proceedings is antecedical to speedy trial and must be based on peculiar facts and findings.” H...

This is a true life story. A maid in Kuwait caught pouring her own urine in her boss's juice. A family in Kuwaiti installed a secret camera in their kitchen after becoming suspicious of their maid's activities in their home. And what they discovered was shocking. The maid was caught pouring her urine into her boss's juice after he requested a drink. The camera captured two women going about their daily chores while one of them prepared a drink. She is seen stirring it and then heading away before the second maid walks over to the juice. Before she gets there however she quickly pulls a beaker of what purportedly contains her own urine from her trousers. She is then clearly seen topping up the drink with the liquid. Nollywood actress, Nkiru Sylvanus says she does not mind being a second wife as she does not see it as ‘a big deal.’ The actress cum politician who was a former aide to the Imo state governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, said ladies must stop having the idea of one- man-one-wife.
